Trenchless Sewer Repair Marco Island, Florida

Trenchless Sewer Repair Marco Island, Florida

The city government of Marco Island, Florida knows the importance of improving its sewer systems. Households and business establishments have used septic tanks in the past but it has been proven by statistics that they caused more water pollution than if there had been a centralized sewer system in place a long time ago.

For a minimal cost per household every month, the government wants to encourage the residents to sign up for the centralized sewer system and eventualy remove the septic systems. The reason for this is that in septic systems, waste gets trapped inside a tank and does not go away. In the case of flood or other natural disasters, these tanks may be one of the sources of toxic matters.

At SPT Pipe, if residents want to turn to sewer systems and slowly stop using septic systems, we believe that our trenchless sewer repair services may help a lot. Today there are different types of trenchless technology that can do all of the work that used to be accomplished with the traditional method of digging.

Different Types of Trenchless Technology

There are more than 15 types of trenchless technology available out there and only licensed, trained, and experienced plumbers like us can use them. Here are 5 types to know about.

Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP)

Most commonly known as the pipe-within-a-pipe way of repairing or replacing a broken or damaged pipe. A tube with resin epoxy is inserted into the old pipe and left to dry, thus creating a new pipe inside of the old one.

Close Fit Pipe

A method where a new thermoplastic pipe with a reduced diameter is installed into the old pipe. The new pipe will be deformed at first due to the pressure but once the pressure is taken off, the new pipe will take on the original diameter of the old pipe.

In-Line Replacement

This requires breaking the old pipe and forcing it out, then inserting the new pipe. This is also known as pipe bursting and can usually be done by two trained operators.

Pipe Ramming

Only used when installing steel pipes. It can cover long distances so it is mostly used in railways or utilities on roads.

Micro Tunneling

A method where small tunnels are created by the trenchless technology machinery, as its name says. The machine is operated remotely with a video camera. The machine pushes the pipe out to install a new one, assisted by one operator on the entry hole who is controlling the machine.
